I am Tamra Jovicic, a front-end developer and digital marketer with a passion for crafting engaging websites and managing impactful digital strategies. Along with my technical skills in Webflow, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I have a strong interest in social media marketing (SMM) and have completed an SMM course to further enhance my expertise.
My experience spans web development, social media management, and customer support, equipping me with a well-rounded skill set that ensures seamless website functionality and successful digital campaigns. For the development of the website, I utilized various technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React. This was my first experience with React, allowing me to gain hands-on knowledge of its component-based structure, which streamlined development and enhanced functionality. I focused on creating a clean, modular codebase that is easy to maintain and scale. CSS3 was employed to implement modern design techniques like Flexbox and Grid for responsive layouts, while JavaScript added interactivity, enabling dynamic features that improved user engagement.
Although the learning curve with React was steep, it significantly deepened my understanding of front-end development. While I recognize the project has areas for improvement, it laid a solid foundation for enhancing my skills in state management and optimization. I actively addressed performance challenges and continue to refine the project, making it a valuable learning experience that improved both my coding abilities and problem-solving skills.
A key focus of this project was ensuring the website was fully mobile-responsive. With an increasing number of users accessing sites from mobile devices, optimizing for smaller screens was essential to maintain design and functionality. I dedicated considerable effort to creating a responsive layout that adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes, using media queries and a flexible grid system in CSS3.
I also implemented a mobile-friendly menu that was intuitive and easy to navigate, featuring collapsible elements to reduce clutter. The challenge was to preserve the elegance of the fine dining restaurant’s brand while ensuring usability on mobile devices. By incorporating JavaScript, I added smooth animations and interactions, enhancing the user experience regardless of the device used. Throughout this process, I tested the site across various devices and screen resolutions to identify and resolve inconsistencies, further improving the mobile experience.
This mobile-first approach ensured that users could easily access the menu, make reservations, and browse offerings, ultimately contributing to a seamless and professional experience for all visitors.
In addition to developing the website, I also took charge of the restaurant's branding efforts. This involved designing business cards and promotional flyers that highlighted daily offers, all crafted to reflect the elegance and sophistication of the fine dining experience. I used Canva as my primary design tool, taking inspiration from Pinterest to ensure that the materials were both visually appealing and aligned with the restaurant’s upscale atmosphere. My goal was to create branding assets that conveyed a sense of luxury and professionalism while maintaining consistency across all platforms.
The business cards were designed to be minimalist yet elegant, reflecting the high-end nature of the restaurant, while the flyers were tailored to capture attention and communicate special promotions in a clear and attractive manner. Throughout the design process, I focused on maintaining a cohesive visual identity that extended across both digital and print media, ensuring that the restaurant’s branding remained strong and consistent. This branding work was crucial in establishing a refined and polished identity for the restaurant, reinforcing its position as a top-tier dining destination.
As a practice project, I created a fully responsive website centered around OpenAI, designed to provide users with up-to-date articles and information about the latest advancements in the world of artificial intelligence. The site is structured with multiple sections displayed on a dynamic slider, allowing users to easily navigate through various topics. It’s optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring a smooth experience for users regardless of their platform. The site features a fully responsive menu for mobile, enabling easy navigation and access to all content.
For the development of the website, I utilized a range of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React. HTML5 provided the foundational structure, while CSS3 allowed me to implement responsive layouts and styling, ensuring that the design adapts smoothly to different screen sizes. I used Flexbox and Grid systems within CSS to enhance the overall layout, maintaining a clean and visually appealing interface on both desktop and mobile devices.
JavaScript played a crucial role in adding interactivity to the site, enabling dynamic features like the responsive menu, animations, and seamless content updates. This, combined with React, made the site more efficient and user-friendly. React's component-based architecture allowed me to create reusable UI elements, which streamlined the development process and ensured a consistent look and feel across the entire site. React's state management also improved the functionality of the dynamic content, particularly with the slider and article updates, making the user experience smoother.
As one of my first React projects, it presented a significant learning opportunity. I encountered and solved various challenges, such as handling state changes, managing props, and optimizing performance, all of which contributed to my deeper understanding of the framework. While I acknowledge that there is still room for improvement, especially in optimizing the code and further enhancing the user experience, this project has provided a strong foundation for my continued growth in web development. I am committed to improving my React skills and refining the website to ensure it delivers both functionality and an engaging user experience.
I worked at a beauty salon where I initially started as a massage therapist but soon transitioned into the roles of web administrator and social media manager. During my time there, I led the development and execution of targeted social media campaigns to boost brand awareness and engage clients. This involved creating visually appealing content for Instagram, managing posting schedules, and analyzing performance metrics to continuously refine our strategies. Unfortunately, the salon has since closed, and the website was taken down, so I don’t have images of the site. However, I do have several examples of the social media materials I created.
In the accompanying slider, you’ll see Instagram posts and stories I designed, which were used for marketing purposes and to share interesting facts about massage. I used Canva for editing and sourced inspiration from Pinterest to keep the content fresh and relevant. Additionally, I was involved in designing flyers and business cards, using Canva and occasionally Photoshop to create professional and eye-catching marketing materials.

As the social media manager, I not only focused on content creation but also coordinated promotional activities, responded to client inquiries, and ensured a positive online presence. My role extended to overseeing daily salon operations, where I was responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and leading marketing initiatives that contributed to increased client retention and overall business growth.
